From Concept to the TDF, & onto the Olympics
The birth of the world’s first 3D print-moulded & foot orthotic integrated carbon-fibre track, road and TT custom cycling shoes.
Carbon-fibre track shoes are by no means a new concept, but from the moment I started with British Cycling on the track, I realised I wanted to take my cycling orthotics to the next level. In order to do that, I needed to wrap them 360° around the athlete’s foot and completely encapsulate that same position within a rigid exoskeleton where any micromovement would be transferred directly into the pedal. What I lacked, was the time and the unique skillsets required to complete this task. That was however, until the world stopped with the pandemic in February, 2020.
It started with Printer No.1
Often hidden from the world under an aero-sock, this game-changing track and TT- specific cycling shoe. It’s made from F1 grade carbon-fibre via its 3D printed construction to produce the most lightweight and ultra-rigid shoe possible. However, it’s the integrated cycling-specific foot orthotic designed specifically to meet each individual foot’s biomechanical needs that ensures no other shoe can align the foot and engage the 1st metatarsal head as quickly and effectively as possible within a single unit.

“Mik’s insoles have been a game changer for me. Not only have they helped fix an old knee issue, the support and stiffness really noticeably improve power transfer. I’m not sure I will ever ride without them again!”
